Asking for a Friend

Description

GiveNOLA Day is a 24-hour event hosted by the Greater New Orleans Foundation to inspire people to give generously to nonprofits, making our region stronger and creating a thriving community for all. On GiveNOLA Day this year, please consider donating to the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library, who do so much to support the Library.

Just a few of the many ways the Friends supported the Library in 2018 include:
• Contributed $70,000 to fund library programs, adult literacy classes, and facility improvements.
• Donated 200,000 books to senior centers, schools, prisons, shelters, military families, and LSU Children’s Hospitals and sent thousands of audio books to the visually impaired.
• Awarded $7,000 in scholarships for 6 Library staff to attend library school.
• Sponsored the Summer Fun Program, which provides hundreds of free programs for children, teens, and adults.

Visit GiveNOLA Day on May 7 to support our Friends.
