Just a few of the many ways the Friends supported the Library in 2018 include:
• Contributed $70,000 to fund library programs, adult literacy classes, and facility improvements.
• Donated 200,000 books to senior centers, schools, prisons, shelters, military families, and LSU Children’s Hospitals and sent thousands of audio books to the visually impaired.
• Awarded $7,000 in scholarships for 6 Library staff to attend library school.
• Sponsored the Summer Fun Program, which provides hundreds of free programs for children, teens, and adults.
