"Female Boarding Houses" in 1897

"Female Boarding" was one of several euphemisms used in local public records to identify houses of prostitution. It is not certain that all of the establishments listed below were indeed houses of prostitution, but there is little doubt about those owned or occupied by Josie Arlington, Julia Dean, Grace Livingston, and other known madames.
