8 12/9/1769 Governor: O’Reilly; Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. - The Attorney General recommends that they prohibit cart drivers from driving over the levee, and permit them to cross it only to receive freight from ships. - The Commissioners complied with this recommendation and agreed that the cart drivers shall number their carts, starting with number one up to as many carts as there may be.

23 3/16/1770 Governor: Unzaga; Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. - The cart drivers are required to contribute two carts for use in filling the holes in the streets.

85 1/10/1772 Governor: Unzaga; Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. - Cart drivers are forbidden to sit atop their carts when driving through the streets.

256 1/31/1777 Governor: Galvez; Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. - At this meeting the cart drivers present a petition concerning the laws established governing trips along the levee. The Commissioners ordered that they comply with the law.

220 5/28/1784 Governor: Miro; Royal Ensign: De Reggio, Sr. - The Attorney General calls attention to the damages done by carts with the drivers riding on top of them. The Commissioners ordered that the carts be numbered within fifteen days, which numbers shall be recognized in the office of the Cabildo.
Drayage 4 IV 72 2/27/1801 Acting Governor: Vidal; Royal Ensign: De La Ronde - At this time the Attorney General recommends the numbering of carts and wagons in the city and adjacent territory; the Secretary of the Cabildo to keep a record of the registrations, and the Ward Commissioners each to have a copy of same. Whenever a cart owner disposes of his cart he must report it to the Secretary of the Cabildo, etc. It was also recommended to see that they dump the required amount of sand in the streets each week.
