At the Municipal Auditorium on February 15, 1969, the Krewe of Moslem presented its tableau ball based on the theme: The Treasures of Gilbert and Sullivan. The royal court of Moslem that year was led by Queen Judy Louise Agular.

Moslem traces its origins back to 1935 when the Arabs of Melsom made their first appearance at the Jerusalem Temple on St. Charles Ave. Made up of members of the Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, the krewe reversed the spelling of its name in 1941 and five years later moved its ball to the Auditorium.
