Higgins training was crucial. "Section of the demonstration tank of the Higgins Boat Operators and Marine Engine Maintenance School. . . . In the tank scale models of Higgins landing boats demonstrate to students the under water action of landing boats 'hitting the beach.' . . . The photograph shows a moving picture camera mounted on a carriage, following the boats as they approach the beach. This scene is part of a training film in the making by Higgins Industries, for the benefit of men in the amphibious service who cannot attend the Higgins Boat Operators and Marine Engine Maintenance School."
