Most of the people arrested in New Orleans in 1907 were classified as "laborers" (10,724). Almost every occupation imaginable is listed among these occupations, however, and only a few categories included no arrests. Among the city's most law abiding citizens were bankers, car drivers, hotel runners, lamp lighters, miners (miners in New Orleans???), shipping masters, teachers and whitewashers.
