The Sugar Sheds
"To protect the crop of sugar from the weathar [sic] and to handle it properly large
warehouse sheds were erected on the Levee [between Customhouse and Toulouse streets], a few years
ago, by a company. These sheds are open on all sides and the floors are constructed to drain to a centre,
so as to gather all the molasses draining from the hogsheads." -- Zacharie,
