"I started working for the I.C. in Feb., 1936. I got a pass for Grandma & I to go to New Orleans and we stopped off at Vicksburg. I visited the I.C. offices there and just missed my friend Mr. Stanford who was Supt. of that Dist. He had promised to take me sightseeing when I got down there but was called out so we had to take a cab."
